Lowering Costs and Improving Sustainability Through Energy Efficiency

The Wine Industry Efficiency Solutions (WIES) Program, one of Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E’s) third-party efficiency programs administered by CLEAResult, helps winery and brewery customers identify potential opportunities to reduce energy use, provides project recommendations based on industry-specific experience, and quantifies the economic value of energy efficiency upgrades. Working as a partner to the winery or brewery and their contractors of choice, the WIES Program provides a clear path toward increased energy savings, including simple access to deemed rebates and calculated incentives for all systems found at a winery or brewery — from grape presses to boilers to waste ponds, and everything in between. Participation in this no-cost program will help the winery or brewery customer reduce energy costs and achieve sustainability goals.

Eligibility Requirements

The WIES Program may be available to sites of all sizes that produce wine, beer, cider and distilled spirits and receive electric or gas service from PG&E. The program focuses on retrofit projects. New construction projects are not eligible.

The WIES Program is available from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2018, and may be modified or terminated without notice.

This program is funded by California utility customers and administered by PG&E under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
